What's more fun than....

Sunday School?Awana? Kid's Bible Study/Church?

God's Word for us this year, "Teach them MY WORD". So we will be teaching His Word, through reading, songs, lessons, walking and talking HIS Word!

Have you been gone all summer sleepin in, playing DS or PS or MP10?

While you have been gone, Janette's been Super Dooper Busy planning for the school year!

Here's what's happening in our neck of the woods!

Sunday School starts on Sunday August 16th at 9:25 a.m. Sunday with "David: God's Chosen King" 1 Samuel 16:1-13. We will take a look at how God chooses, prepares and uses leaders. We see God faithfully working in God's own time through his chosen people. Samuel was a powerful prophet, priest, and the last of the judges of Israel.

What will your child learn out of this rotation?
David, a man after God’s own heart, was chosen by God to be the King of Israel.

The students of this rotation will:

* Appreciate that God is in charge, working steadfastly according to God’s own plan and timetable.

* Learn that the shepherd boy David will become Israel’s greatest king, and, more importantly, an ancestor of the Messiah. David’s idealized kingdom points ultimately to the coming Kingdom of God.

* Learn that God sees things that people do not. Even God’s most trusted and most faithful followers sometimes fail to follow God’s instructions, taking charge themselves and relying wrongly on themselves. We recognize ourselves in their struggles to understand and to do God’s will.

* See that when God calls people to do something, God prepares them and provides all they need to do God’s work. We also can rely on the Holy Spirit’s presence and support in our own lives.

We start with check in, gather together to pray in and sing worship songs and a small teaching with scripture look up and then release kids to class. Parents pick up at 10:45 a.m.

Kid's Church/Bible Study at 11 a.m. on Sundays is studying Jesus for 10 more weeks.

For: Ages 4 years to 6th grade.

Here is how we do Kid's Bible Study - kids go to service with parents and sing praise and worship. Gene releases the kids and we go downstairs into the KQ Story Room. The tables are set up and the preschool - 1st grade are at one table and the older kids are at the other.
We use to have the older help the younger but they weren't really getting the lesson, either group.
We have a few helpers too. We each read some of the reading.

Preschoolers - 1st have someone who reads in their ear and they repeat it loudly so others can hear. They usually read just one verse. The older kids read up to 5 verses. We ask questions and they are given a worksheet that has the storyboard on it in cartoon fashion.
We are also learning the names of God, these can be seen on the wall downstairs.

Children are brought back up to the Sanctuary most of the time. Sometimes we run over and have not completed everything so parents need to pick up.

Awana Starts August 19th at 6:15 at St. Paul's! We will start in the Sanctuary. This year our goal is to see how quiet we can be. We will be using inside quiet Library voices during our night. Puggles, Cubbies, Sparks and T&T are up and ready to see all of you! We are so excited to begin again!
When you come in the doors Sparks and T&T will check in at St. Paul's. The Cubbies and Puggles will begin at Hearts and Hands Preschool, Sparks and T&T will be awaiting their arrival and start promptly at 6:25 p.m. Games will be in the Preschool Parking Lot until the opening of the new building. We have weather contigency plans in place.

Sparks handbook time will be in the commons and T&T's handbook time will be in the Sanctuary. Both groups will practice those inside quiet Library voices. Both of our big group times will be in a room downstairs where we hold Sunday school. P/U for Sparks will be downstairs and P/U for T&T this year will be at their table in the Commons. The T&Ters will be sitting with their leaders awaiting their parents.
Cubbies and Puggles will be in the Preschool area most of the evening, p/u will be at their rooms.

As the T&T director, we will be studying a few new topics. Our first one is Pilgrim's Progress, by John Bunyan. Here is a link to a copy, but not the one we are using. Use this to talk with your 3-6th grader. We will be studying this for 8 weeks.

Did you know for less than $1.50 a week, your child will learn God's Word forever? For just that small amount your child has a leader who believes in them, believes in God's Word, gives their time with no pay and really enjoys your child's company. That's priceless!

3rd Grade Bible If you have a new 3rd grader and you are apart of St. Paul's we invite you to step into our Bible Class for 3rd graders starting Sept 13th - 30th from 12:30- 2ish. This is a family class for the whole family. You will walk from Genesis to Revelation with your pencil, your words and God's Word. On Oct. 4th at 9:30 we will be presenting you and your family to the congregation.

Parents this year we want to partner with you in your child's faith journey. How can we help? What can we do for you to help you be the best you can be? What tools would be helpful for you in this journey? Please let us know or drop Janette an email or call her and let her know.

We look forward to serving a Mighty God this year.
